How to Organize Your Calendar

Everyone has made similar resolutions for 2015.  A new year, a new me, has become the motto for most of January but this year why not take that extra step and include a new calendar into your new year. Organizing your personal calendar can be one of the hardest things to do but with some of these tips we can make it easier. Try them out and tell us which ones work best for you!

Tip #1: Utilize multiple calendars. Some people prefer having a digital calendar, some prefer hard copy, but whatever your preference is you might find yourself more organized when you use multiple calendars. We're not suggesting you walk around with 5 planners in your purse but if your day gets busy enough and your forget to look at your planner then a text message on your phone might just save you from forgetting an important appointment. Some of our features can help you with that too!

Tip #2: Start your week on a Sunday. Granted we don't work on weekends, and we don't want to, but if you take a quick glance at your calendar on Sunday instead of waiting to on Monday you feel more prepared for the week ahead of you. Using this extra day to plan your week ahead if you need also makes for a big game changer.

Tip #3: Plan your meals. Planning your meals ahead of time can be a huge time-saver! Pinterest has tons of great ideas on the best way for you to plan, and maybe even cook, ahead for your week. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to eat healthy stuff it just means you plan your meals, whatever those meals might be.

Tip #4: Determine the cause for your lack of organization or clutter. Sometimes it's the small things that make us feel cluttered, enveloped in our obligations, and tired. This can simply be lack of motivation or lack of taking a break (which is really important). To start organizing effectively you need to know what causes your lack of organization and make the decision to change it.

Tip #5: We did that thing where we saved the best tip for last because it truly is the most important one - take mental health breaks! Seriously, this tip is your life-saver, time-saver, and just all around good stuff. You need to set aside time, even if you have to plan it into your calendar, to take a mental break from all the events you have in your week. If you can take a break for only 15 minutes each day studies show you will be more productive throughout your entire week.

We hope these 5 tips help make your 2015 easier! Don't forget with Appointmentreminders.com we have levels for any professional that might need a little help with their organization.
